| Summary: | A chaplain attempts to use the Don Browning's methodology from Religious Ethics and Pastoral Care (1983) to develop a personal practical theology for ministering with dialysis patients who are desiring to terminate treatment. The development of a personal practical theology is necessary in order to avoid the projection of the hospital chaplain's personal spiritual, moral, religious, cultural and philosophical values onto the patient and/or family members. The chaplain is then able to assist the patient and/or family in making decisions based on the patient's value system. |
