總結:The historical study of theological views of people with mental retardation leads us to be hopeful about the present view of people with mental retardation, yet honest about needs for further growth. An understanding of the issues of people with mental retardation can inform general theology shaped in a pastoral context. The questions raised by people with mental retardation and their parents bring insight into issues of God's love, acceptance and human suffering. While views of people with mental retardation are changing, those with severe retardation are still segregated from society and not given necessary care.
