| Summary: | El ensayo tiene como objetivo sugerir cómo se puede superar la división entre teología y canonística. Procedemos en dos tiempos: en el primero se muestra cómo las dos disciplinas tienen un mismo objeto, la vida de la Iglesia como fenómeno a interpretar; el segundo indica cómo pueden conectarse las dos disciplinas: la teología debe ilustrar la razón de ser del fenómeno de la Iglesia; la canonística, la razón de ser de las normas que permiten a la Iglesia llevar a cabo su misión en un tiempo determinado. The essay aims to suggest how the split between theology and the study of canon law may be overcome. The approach is twofold: first, the two disciplines are shown to have the same object, the life of the Church as a phenomenon to be interpreted; and second, the link between the two disciplines is elucidated: theology sheds light on the Church’s raison d’etre, and the study of canon law gives an account of the rules that enable the Church to carry out her mission in a particular time-period |
