Description
Summary:The Pontifical Biblical Commission's document The Interpretation of the Bible in the Church (IBC) details interpretive methods which the Catholic exegete should use in the study of Biblical texts. The purpose of this paper will be to assess and critique the IBC's section on The Use of the Bible, wherein it indicates four ways in which the Bible can fruitfully be used and applied in the Church: Liturgy, Lectio Divina, pastoral ministry, and ecumenism.
