Summary: | Canon 1041, 2°-6° lists several actions that, by their commission, render one receiving holy orders 'irregular'. While these irregularities are ecclesiastical law and as such do not bind non-Catholics, it is uncerstain how these irregularities apply to non-Catholics who are subsequently baptized into the Catholic Church or are received into it. When they enter into full communion, they become bound by canon 1041 and all ecclesiastical laws. If non-Catholics commit acts before they become Catholic that would have rendered them irregular, do they become irregular when they subsequently enter into full communion? |
