| Summary: | Father "A" was wrongly accused of sexual misconduct in his parish. The misinformation was spoken to members of his parish by another parishioner highly respected in the parish. The misinformation was communicated to her by Father "B" who had heard it from Father "C". Father "A" complained to the local Bishop concerning the defamation to his character and good name. The Bishop investigated. Father "B" admitted that he passed on the misinformation to the parishioner. Father "C" asserts that he never spoke to Father "B" about this. Father "A" insists to the Bishop that everything be done to restore his good reputation. What are the canonical rights and/or processes to which Father "A" can avail himself in order to reclaim his good reputation? |
