Hier ist ein Fall dargestellt, in dem einem Diözesanbischof eine Klage gegen einen seiner Priester aufgrund Missbrauchs eingereicht wurde. Bei einer Konfrontation zeigte der Pfarrer kaum Protest, so dass der Bischof diesen anwies, sich in psychologische Behandlung zu begeben. Als dieser sich weigerte, drohte der Bischof mit Suspendierung aufgrund Ungehorsams. John Beal geht in seiner Stellungnahme zu dieser Frage zunächst auf die Verbindlichkeit psychologischer Bewertungen ein und erläutert, wann ein Bischof diese einfordern kann.
