Der PCI entscheidet eine Anfrage, ob die Wahl eines Präses in einem Kanonikerkapitel aufgrund des can. 509 obligatorisch ist, negativ. Nach dieser Entscheidung kann der Präses in einem Kanonikerkapitel auch auf andere Weise (z. B. Ernennung durch den Bischof) bestimmt werden
