Apparu dans la ville cilicienne d’Aegae, le culte de S. Julien connut une popularité importante en Méditerranée orientale et gagna Antioche, Alexandrie, Nicomédie et Constantinople entre la fin du IVe et le VIe s. L’histoire de Julien de Cilicie a influencé la formation du culte des SS. Julien et Basilissa d’Antinoopolis, et très probablement ceux de Ste Julienne de Nicomédie et de S. Julien d’Émèse. | ||
