Il s’agit toujours, dans sa théologie, de cette « violence inouïe de l’amour de Dieu » qui s’offre à l’histoire, et de la libre volonté de l’homme qui, par grâce, souvent, s’y allie. Par union entre l’amour qu’est Dieu et la libre détermination de soi qu’est l’homme se construit tout ce qui vit véritablement et tout ce qui demeure - le Christ lui-même. C’est là l’unique réalité qui vaille : l’incarnation de la grâce, qui forme l’histoire, selon le mouvement de l’Union hypostatique et la personne historique de Jésus-Christ. Le rapport de la grâce à l’incarnation dessine un centre interprétatif de la théologie de Karl Rahner et en permet une approche cohérente. La constance de ce fondement apparaît dans tous les textes du corpus. Rahner lui-même cerne et rappelle régulièrement l’audace de cette approche, dont la théologie contemporaine n’a pas fini de tirer profit. | ||

In his theology, it is always a question of this ‘unheard-of violence of God’s love’ that springs forth in history, and of the free will of humankind who, through grace, are often allied. Through union between the love that is God and the free determination of oneself of mankind, human beings construct all that they truly experience and all that remains - Christ himself. This is the only truly valid reality: the incarnation of grace that shapes history according to the movement of the hypostatic Union and the historical person of Jesus Christ. The relation of grace to incarnation provides us with an interpretive centre for Karl Rahner’s theology and enables us to approach it in a coherent way. The constancy of this foundation appears in all the texts of the corpus. Rahner himself regularly focuses on and recalls the audacity of this approach, which contemporary theology continues to benefit from. | ||
