The papyrus surveys existing knowledge to reveal why Africa today is deindustrialized and what is to be done to revive the industrialization of the continent and decolonize the relative exclusion of people of African descent from the worldwide participation in the industrial revolution. The methodology is to review the chronology of the dialectical negation of theses and antithesis, their synthesis or negation of the negation, and the hegemonic debates around industrialization in Africa while identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the most well-known theories for understanding and changing the conditions of deindustrialization in Africa and among people of African descent globally. Although policy preferences will be mentioned, other writers are expected to focus on the examination of specific industrialization policies the way that UNECA researchers do (UN Economic Commission on Africa, 2020).
