Σύνοψη:In this article, we briefly review the biography of Jesuit Fr Eugenio Costa. Here we focus on his habits and his special relationship with music as a composer, as an interpreter, as a scholar, as an authoritative protagonist of the liturgical reform in the Catholic Church, not only in Italy. We remember, among other things, his participation in the impressive National Repertory of Chants for the Liturgy, published by Elledici, with texts and complete music, and the composition of the hymn Misericordes sicut Pater, for the Extraordinary Holy Year of Mercy, called by Pope Francis in 2013.
