This is a difficult but indispensable task, as studies of communities affected by trauma show. The recent translation of a book by David M. Carr (Holy Resilience: The Traumatic Origins of the Bible) can help us in this regard, as one of its main themes is the capacity of the Holy Bible to narrate the trauma and to discover the constant presence of God within it. A reading in a salvific perspective offers many important lessons for the current situation: in particular, the role of the community at its various levels (family, friendship, social) and the need to stop and re-read experience (thanks to the narratives of the past) to find in the crisis an unprecedented opportunity to start again. | ||
