The article follows this suggestion, placing the theme of the theme of the papacy in front of its reform. After having traversed some historical stages, and giving salient points of the doctrine of Vatican II, it outlines a profile of the Petrine ministry in relation to some requests that have emerged in recent years: the service of love, communion and collegiality, the pope as Bishop of Rome.
