AB The article discusses recent developments in the training of indigenous Bible translators. In a search for academically sound yet holistic and practice-oriented training, three training programmes are compared. Based on the common ground in approach and content and an awareness of recurring issues, closer collaboration of those involved in this field is proposed to reduce duplication of effort and seek best practices. The first meeting was the workshop “Training Bible Translators in Non-Western Contexts,” which took place in October 2013 in Dallas.
