Este artigo tem como objetivo principal analisar as representações de gênero nesta dança de tradição religiosa.

It is a revelry cycle which includes the Christmas festivities, which tells the story of a group of shepherdesses who travels to Bethlehem in search of the baby Jesus. The Lapinha or as it is popu-larly called, Pastoral, Pastorinhas, Bailes Pastoral, was represented in proceedings before the manger. This article aims at analyzing gender representations in this dance of religious tradition.
