Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:Roy A. Harrisville likens the historical-critical method to the contents in Pandora’s box, which, when opened, released “a myriad other pains.” This was then due to “methodological vagaries of the generations” (p. viii). He points out that there is no longer agreement on the historical-critical method amongst biblical interpreters, not as there used to be when it aimed to determine the historical and authorial intended meaning of the biblical texts. However, Harrisville is optimistic that hope remains for the historical-critical method, but what this hope is, and what guise it would take, is never fully discussed.
