Summary: | The Hebrew University Bible Project (HUBP) aims to publish a diplomatic editio maior of the text of the Hebrew Bible, based upon the Aleppo Codex, with textual variants recorded from as broad a range of sources as possible, spanning almost 2000 years of written sources, including the Dead Sea scrolls; ancient translations into Greek, Latin, Syriac, and Aramaic; quotations in rabbinic literature; Genizah fragments; and medieval manuscripts. The article describes the principles of this edition, with specific emphasis on the base text and each of the four textual apparatuses. The various aspects of the edition are demonstrated through a sample page, which is explained in detail. |
