Summary: | On December 10, 1995, Bonvi died tragically in Bologna in a car accident. Bonvi was the stage name of Franco Bonvicini, famous for having created the satirical comic strip Sturmtruppen, then later Nick Carter, and other protagonists in his modern comics. He was a surveyor, cartoonist and journalist, he worked in advertising, a television author, screenwriter, actor and much more besides. His friend, the writer and songwriter Francesco Guccini collaborated in the creation of some of his drawings, especially those of Incubi di provincial (provincial nightmares), where the intimate side of a brilliant and problematic character is revealed. Bonvi is one of the most important Italian comic authors, and his Sturmtruppen is the only strip which can be considered entirely Italian, and it boasts the merit of being the first foreign comic strip printed in Soviet Russia. |
