Nella pericope di Gv 4,7-15 l’espressione allude alla rivelazione che Cristo propone alla samaritana, mentre nel contesto della festa dei Tabernacoli (7,37-39) il medesimo costrutto annuncia il dono dello Spirito santo, che il rivelatore avrebbe compiuto negli eventi pasquali (Gv 19,34; 20,22b-23). Questa duplice sfumatura dell’espressione ὕδωρ ζῶν va ricercata nel sostrato letterario della tradizione sapienziale e profetica e negli scritti giudaico-rabbinici, che continuano a usare il medesimo simbolo. Il presente contributo si pre-figge di individuare i testi a cui Giovanni sembra ispirarsi, notando i possibili contatti linguistici e teologico-tematici tra il vangelo e i suoi background letterari. | ||

In the pericope of John 4:7-15 the expression alludes to the revelation that Christ proposes to the Samaritan woman, while in the context of the feast of Tabernacles (7:37-39) the same construct announces the gift of the Holy Spirit, which the revealer would have made in the Eas-ter events (John 19:34; 20:22b-23). This double nuance of the expression ὕδωρ ζῶνis to be found in the literary substratum of the sapiential and prophetic tradition and in the Jewish-rabbinic writings, which continue to use the same symbol. This present contribution aims to identify the texts that John seems to be inspired by, noting the possible linguistic and theological-thematic contacts between the gospel and its liter-ary backgrounds | ||
