Ao que tudo indica, o tema dos adversários e algumas obras de restauração na cidade podem ser situados no período persa apenas de maneira incipiente. A construção da muralha e a nomeação de adversários específicos, contudo, corresponderiam ao período de expansão hasmoneia da Judeia, no final do séc. II aEC, especialmente à época dos enfrentamentos de João Hircano com seus vizinhos. 
520 |a The purpose of this study is to give a brief comment on the theme of Nehemiah’s enemies, contrary to the reconstruction of the wall of Jerusalem from the exegetical analysis of Ne 4: 1-9. Apparently, the subject of the adversaries and some restoration works in the city can be placed in the Persian period only incipiently. The construction of the wall and the appointment of specific adversaries, however, corresponded to the period of Judean Hasmonean expansion at the end of the second century BCE, especially at the time of John Hircanus’ confrontations with his neighbors.
