In traditionally Christian societies like those of Europe, the encounter with a forcefully represented Islam challenges to find new ways of presenting the Christian faith as well. To enable authentic faith experiences, so the thesis of this article, is an important element in confronting ideology and fundamentalism. It is part of religious education to teach about other religions – for example in cooperative forms of teaching and learning. But such knowledge about different faiths need to be connected with a deepening experience of living one's own faith. |
