| Summary: | This article follows the author’s journey researching and theologically reflecting on Catherine LaCugna’s vision to integrate theology with spirituality, such that the doctrine of the Trinity is understood and experienced as relevant to Christian life. Responding to an observation by Elizabeth Groppe that some of LaCugna’s writings ‘are more akin to a Bonaventurean itinerarium than a scholastic theological treatise’, and drawing on insights from Groppe, Ilia Delio and Kevin Hughes, the author explores some of the ways LaCugna’s writing style and re-conceived model of the oikonomia have been influenced by Saint Bonaventure and his Itinerarium mentis in Deum. |
