Итог: | The article opens with the widespread impression that the contemporary crisis of Covid-19 is seen in broader public as a com-pletely unique, incomparable crisis. But using paradigms as me-mory studies, demography and historical social sciences forgotten past becomes quite relevant for contemporary developments. Today’s crisis compared to medieval and early modern epidemic makes quite clear that there are serious differences (e. g. in regard of mortality rates) but also commonalities (epidemic intensifies social tensions and inequalities). Also individual and common mechanisms to survive »in between times« are comparable. But the function and relevance of religion in European societies has changed dramatically in the last two centuries – and that leads to certain consequences in regard of dealing with such a pandemic. |
