| 520 | |a This article focusses on the question of how different concepts of time and different forms of measuring time can be synchronized. This problem is analyzed using some examples from Christian Antiquity. To that end, the meaning and history of the term »synchronization« is discussed, and some ancient texts which helped to synchronize (e. g. the »Chronicon« of Eusebius) and reveal the influence of such problems for everyday life (e. g. the so called Feriale Duranum excavated in Dura-Europos) are considered. Concluding remarks offer some results for our perception of ancient societies. | ||
