Summary: | Various films and TV series confront their audience with their protagonists' faith and religious practice, and, thus, offer an insight into different religions. Therefore, this essay asks in how far such films are able to support interreligious learning. Both „Türkisch für Anfänger“ and „Von Menschen und Göttern“ are analysed with regard to one of the core competences of religious education: capability of dialogue. The presentation of religion en passant combined with the multidimensionality of films, in one case, support alterity, perspectivity and a general ability to talk about religious affairs. The other example, however, is questionable from a didactic point of view, as widespread religious prejudices are increased. As a result, teachers have to be careful when selecting media for interreligious learning. |
