Summary: | In an anonymous byzantine compilation of treatises that is best preserved in the so called Anonymus Treu (Par. suppl. gr. 607A) there is a section containing allegorical interpretations of antique statues of gods. We give a new edition of the text and a stemma, and we discuss possible sources. The focus is set on Porphyry’s On statues and John Lydus’s On the Months as these two works have passages overlapping with the byzantine compilation. |
