L’étude de l’implantation des rues et des édifices intra-muros a mis en évidence un plan urbain orthogonal orienté suivant l’axe nord-sud de la rue principale. Le tracé de cette dernière présente un changement de direction vers le sud-ouest dans sa portion méridionale. Le résultat combiné des différentes investigations sur le tracé des fortifications, sur la rue principale et sur la porte sud, ainsi que les fouilles archéologiques du secteur sud à flanc de colline et la prospection géophysique ont permis de mettre en évidence les limites de la première Cyrrhus et d’analyser l’évolution du plan et de la nature de l’occupation au sud de la ville à travers les âges. | ||
| 520 | |a Since the first excavation campaigns, the Syrian-Lebanese archaeological mission of Cyrrhus (Nebi Huri) developed a research program on the occupation of the urban space and the fortifications of the city. The study of the streets and buildings layout within the city walls revealed an orthogonal town-planning oriented along the north-south axis of the main street. This main axis displays a change of direction towards the southwest in its southern part. Results of the archaeological investigations on the southern sector, the study of the city’s fortifications, the streets and the southern gate, as well as the geophysical survey, helped trace the boundaries of the original Cyrrhus and the evolution of the urban plan and nature of the occupation of this city throughout the ages. | ||
