Die Indikationsstellung sagt, was die Medizin im Einzelfall an Interventionen anbieten kann, die nach allgemeiner Überzeugung erstrebenswerte Ziele verfolgen: Vorbeugen, Heilen, Lindern von Leiden. Insofern ist sie stets von den Wertungen der Medizin geprägt. Dieses Angebot bedarf dann in einem nachgeschalteten Schritt der Bewertung durch den Patienten. Die Rolle der Indikationsstellung in der ärztlichen Entscheidungsfindung wird daran ausgerichtet. | ||

The indication states what medicine can offer in individual cases in terms of interventions that are generally believed to pursue desirable goals: prevent, cure, relieve suffering. In this respect, it is always influenced by the evaluations of medicine. This offer then needs to be evaluated by the patient in a subsequent step. The role of the indication in medical decision-making is aligned with this. | ||
