Summary: | While making use of John Churchill’s work, this paper offers a Wittgensteinian analysis of a central religious picture of the Roman Catholic Mass. Thus, it investigates the aesthetical, functional, structural and relational dimensions of the expression 'Christ’s blood'. By attempting to describe what Christian believers do and say, I intend to demonstrate how a Wittgensteinian philosophy of religion can work. At the same time, I hope to prepare the way for philosophical theology. |
