| Summary: | L'article a pour objectif de rendre compte du réalisme critique introduit par le théologien Ian Barbour afin d'établir un « pont » entre science et théologie. Nous verrons pourquoi et comment Ian Barbour utilise cette philosophie qui relie le mieux, selon lui, l'ontologie et l'épistémologie pour proposer un dialogue voire une intégration entre science et théologie. Ce réalisme critique a ensuite été repris par d'autres scientifiques-théologiens notamment Peacocke et Polkinghorne avec quelques nuances qui sont ici analysées. This article endeavors to take stock of the critical realism introduced by the theologian Ian Barbour in order to establish a “bridge” between science and theology. We shall see why and how Barbour employs this philosophy, which on his view best links ontology and epistemology, to propose a dialogue and even an integration between science and theology. This critical realism was taken up by other scientist theologians, notably Peacocke and Polkinghorne, with a few nuances analyzed here. |
