Σύνοψη:New Creation could be understood as a process in which the biological tendency to pursue one’s own interests – including the interests of one’s group at the cost of others (if necessary even with the use of violence) – is overcome in favor of forms of creative communicative action shaped by love. This interpretation of New Creation as an anti-selectionist force is attractive but poses a danger, too. Evolution and New Creation could be seen as pure contrasts. Against this dualism the article argues, that processes of New Creation always occurs in a domain which is already shaped by processes of New Creation: Christianity cannot be conceived of without Israel and its exodus tradition – and the recreating Spirit of Jesus Christ can connect to processes which the Spirit constantly works within creation. Thus it can be said: The Spirit who works at the renewal of human beings through the New Creation is already present in life-enhancing natural and cultural processes for the beneft of God’s creation.
