Sumario:The author would like to make the following correction: On p. 367 of the article, reference to Woodrow Wilson should be Warren Harding. The corrected sentence should read: The message to ‘go slow’ with civil rights was the problem. Those on the American political right, in contrast, argue for a return to an ‘American greatness’ that has been lost with time, also challenging the linearity of progress but in a different temporal—and value-ridden—framework. We might also mention the revitalization of the slogan (first used by Warren Harding during the 1920 election), ‘America First’, by Trump, during his 2016 Republican National Convention speech.
