520 |a Religion and religiosity are rarely the main focus of economic research; although, some studies have already shown the importance of religion for economic development. Previous research has also provided some evidence that religiosity matters in the process of formation of economic attitudes. Economic attitudes and culture in general affect social institutions and economic development, especially in the periods of institutional change. This article provides some additional evidence that religiosity has had an impact on economic attitudes in post-communist countries. Thus, religion shall be taken seriously as an explanatory variable when it comes to evaluation of transition process and its outcomes. 
520 |a La religion et la religiosité sont rarement au centre de la recherche économique, bien que certaines études aient déjà montré l'importance de la religion pour le développement économique. Des recherches antérieures ont également démontré que la religiosité joue un rôle important dans le processus de formation des attitudes économiques. Les attitudes économiques et la culture en général influent sur les institutions sociales et le développement économique, en particulier pendant les périodes de changement institutionnel. Cet article fournit des preuves supplémentaires sur le fait que la religiosité a eu un impact sur les attitudes économiques dans les pays postcommunistes. Ainsi, la religion doit être prise au sérieux en tant que variable explicative lorsqu'il s'agit d'évaluer le processus de transition et ses résultats.
