RT Article T1 The Logic of Religious Language JF Religious studies VO 9 IS 2 SP 143 OP 155 A1 Cohen, Cynthia B. LA English YR 1973 UL https://ixtheo.de/Record/1686651686 AB Expressions used in religious contexts have often seemed odd and paradoxical to philosophers. Statements have appeared in Christian discourse to the effect that God is not a person and yet is a person, that he is a servant and a king, that he is nothingness and being itself. These statements appear unintelligible either because their terms are self-contradictory or because they are mutually exclusive. DO 10.1017/S0034412500006557
