Ethische Fragen, die der Enhancement-Diskurs hervorbringt, werden in der Seelsorge überwiegend kritisch abgewehrt. Grund dafür ist zum einen, dass sich der Subjektbegriff der Seelsorge am Bild des Fragments orientiert. Zum andern wird der für den ethischen Enhancement-Diskurs zentrale Begriff der Authentizität innerhalb der Seelsorge anders verortet - es wird zu einem pastoraltheologischen Postulat. Der Beitrag plädiert aus praktisch-theologischer Sicht dafür, diese Lokalisierung kritisch zu hinterfragen und nicht allein die Authentizität des Seelsorgers, sondern die der betroffenen Menschen in Blick zu nehmen. So könnte eine konstruktive Debatte zwischen Ethik und Seelsorge über Enhancement initiiert werden. 
520 |a This article is based on the observation that there is little debate between ethics and pastoral care in regard to Enhancement. Ethical question that are brought forth by the Enhancement-Discourse are mostly being fended off in pastoral care. On the one side this can be attributed to the concept of the subject employed by pastoral care as it is derived from the image of the fragment. On the other side the central term in the ethical Enhancement-Discourse, Authenticity, is located differently in pastoral care - where it turns into a pastoral-theological postulate. This article, speaking out of a practical-theological point of view, wants to critically question this localization. The focus should not lie solely on the authenticity of the carer but also on affected persons. This could initiate a constructive debate between ethics and pastoral care about Enhancement.
