Description
Summary:The General Convention, meeting in July 2018, called for the inclusion of Latino liturgical resources in new BCP translations and revisions. Consequently, it seems right to reassess how we think about liturgy by, with, and among Latinos. In this article, the author proposes that liturgy entails, above all, signifying actions involving the whole congregation. Latinos are the people to whom these actions must signify, and worship must be incarnated or inculturated in Latino cultures in imitation of the incarnation, a theological foundation of liturgical theology and practice. The author concludes by pointing to the challenges in both practice and spirituality facing Anglicanism in the development of Latino Anglican liturgy.
