À la suite des trois déclarations faites par Paul au sujet des Juifs (Ac 13,46; 18,6; 28,28), il s'agit maintenant d'examiner le comportement de l'Apôtre tel qu'il se présente concrètement sur le terrain. Une surprise de taille attend le lecteur: si Paul semble affirmer, par trois fois, son intention de se détourner des Juifs, son action missionnaire, elle, le conduit, de manière constante et récurrente, à fréquenter les synagogues et à se rendre, souvent en priorité, là où les Juifs se trouvent. Comment articuler ce décalage entre la parole de Paul et son action? | ||
| 520 | |a The status of Jews (οἱ Ἴουδαῖοι) in the Book of Acts remains, even today, a delicate and debated question. One looks in vain for consensus on this question within the exegetical community. This article is the second part of a longer study of this question. Following three declarations by Paul concerning the Jews (13:46; 18:6; 28:28), we now examine the concrete behaviour of the Apostle. A great surprise awaits the reader: if Paul affirms, on three occasions, his intention to turn his attention away from the Jews, his missionary activity leads him constantly to frequent the synagogues and often to prioritize travel to the places where Jews are found. How are we to understand the apparent gap between Paul's words and his actions. | ||
