Summary: | Thomas Aquinas held at the end of his life a series of sermons on "the most perfect prayer": the Our Father. The sermons are true treasures, rich in insights both theological and spiritual and beautiful examples of the close and fruitful interconnection between prayer and theology. In this analysis of the sermons special attention is given to the role of the Spirit in the petitions since Thomas, does not only link each of the seven petitions to one of the seven gifts of the Spirit, like Augustine did before him, but he gives also an explanation. |
