Description
Summary:This concluding part of a research report looking into literature in the field of Religious Education published between 2009 and 2017 focusses on different learning venues under discussion: elementary education (4.1.), school and Religious Education (4.2), confirmation and youth work (4.3) and - last but not least - adult education including religious learning processes with elderly people (4.4).Although research in all these fields has undergone impressive progress, especially due to empirical studies, academic discourse still concentrates on school. Therefore this paper includes sections on RE in the framework of private (church) schooling (4.2.6), school chaplaincy (4.2.5), RE in a surrounding which is characterized by a non-denominational majority of pupils as for instance given in eastern Germany (4.2.4), Jewish and Islamic Religious Education (4.2.3) as well as suggestions on how to further develop RE in a religiously plural state school (4.2.1).
