In this lecture, the author suggests that rather than being in cultural exile, Western Christians have become so accommodated to their culture that not only are they not in exile, but they have participated in the exile of others. The significance of a collective moral understanding is highlighted, and suggestions made for a posture of collective repentance that empowers responsive action through privileging the 'other'.
