Description
Summary:Karl Rahner was much influenced by Joseph Maréchal whose works he got to know during his philosophical studies in Pullach. Yet it is somewhat surprising that Rahner cites Maréchal's works only sparingly, most notably in »Geist in Welt«. Only late in his life does Rahner return to Maréchal explicitly in a number of interviews. Here Rahner cites Maréchal as influential, yet he also refers to a transformation of thought in his own reception of Maréchal. This transformation can be traced by comparing Rahner's appropriation of Maréchal's thought with that of Henri de Lubac.
