| Summary: | Information über die Alte Kirche ist in literarischen Texten überliefert. In diesen Quellen finden sich Abschnitte, die im Lauf ihrer Rezeptionsgeschichte zu liturgischen Texten wurden. Bei manchen dieser Texte schien es auch, dass ihr Kontext oder ihre Form auf eine ritualisierte Verwendung in den Kirchen des neutestamentlichen Zeitalters schließen lässt. Die in diesem Band versammelten Aufsätze bearbeiten die Frage, wie sich Elemente von Liturgien jener Epoche in den vorliegenden literarischen Texten auffinden lassen. Dabei wird auch diskutiert, wie Leserinnen und Leser jener literarischen Texte anachronistische Rekonstruktionen alter Liturgien vermeiden können. Die Themen der Aufsatzsammlung umspannen die frühmittelalterliche jüdische Poesie und alte griechischen Hymnen. Es werden die physischen Eigenschaften der Qumranrollen, die Gebetstexte enthalten oder die performativen Aspekte von alttestamentlichen Texten wie das Eifersuchtsordal genauso diskutiert wie die Gebetstexte, die sich als Psalmen Salomons oder in den Thomasakten finden. These sources contain passages that became liturgical texts during their history of reception while the context or form of some of them could suggest their ritualized use in the churches of New Testament times. The essays in this volume elaborate on the question of how ancient pieces of liturgy might be found in the extant literature. It also asks how readers of these literary texts can avert the risk of anachronistic reconstructions of ancient liturgies. The topics of this collection range from Jewish Early Medieval poetry to Ancient Greek hymns. The papers discuss the physical appearance of prayer texts among the Dead Sea Scrolls, the performative aspects of texts as they are visible in the Old Testament Suspected Adulteress ritual, as well as prayer texts in the Psalms of Solomon and in the Acts of Thomas.
