Le concept rappelle celui de la guerre sainte, tel qu'il est employé aujourd'hui dans le discours politique lorsqu'il est question de Daesch, en référence à l'islam et au Coran. C'est pourquoi il est important de faire remarquer, dans le cadre du dialogue entre les religions monothéistes, que ce thème n'est pas étranger à la Bible. Il faut cependant prendre en compte l'histoire culturelle et déterminée dans le temps de son interprétation et de sa réception pour faire face au préjugé selon lequel la violence est un trait typique de toutes les religions monothéistes qui l'utilisent comme un moyen pour défendre leurs convictions. À partir de trois textes du livre du Deutéronome (Dt 7 ; 13 ; 20), Michaela Bauks examine le glissement de sens que le terme subit au sein de la tradition deutéronomiste elle-même et en montre les conséquences quant à la compréhension du concept dit de guerre sainte. | ||

In a dialogue between the monotheistic religions it is important to note that the theme is no stranger to the Bible, but that the cultural history at the time of its interpretation and reception must be taken into account in face of the bias that violence is a typical characteristic used by monotheistic religions to defend their convictions. Supported by three texts (Deut 7 ; 13 ; 20), Michaela Bauks examines the shift in meaning the word suffers and pinpoints the consequences on the understanding of the concept of holy war. | ||
