Zusammenfassung: | Using the Rokeach Dogmatism Scale on a sample of Catholic clergy and ex-clergy, this study finds that both priests in the active ministry and seminarians are significantly more dogmatic than either ex-priests or ex-seminarians. The difference in dogmatism between clergymen who persevere in their clerical role and those who leave the ministry is interpreted both in terms of organizational self-selection and of personality differences between the groups. |
