Summary: | This theological-biblical study analyzes two cases of discernment carried out by some Christian communities of the earliest period. The first one is the appointment of seven men entrusted with the ministry of distributing food to the widows of the Church of Jerusalem (Acts 6). The second one is the resolution of the dissent which emerged in three Christian communities against the Apostle Paul's decision to go to Jerusalem (Acts 20-21). In both problematic situations the style of true ecclesial discernment allowed the Holy Spirit to accomplish everything for the good of those who loved God (cfr. Rm 8:28). (English) |
