AB The article looks at the history of the use of the word "Unterhaltung" (entertainment) and the concepts implied. Then, entertainment is decribed as part and promotor of a historical transformation in society with all its ambivalences. This includes how religion appears in entertainment and entertainment transforms religion. Thus it can be explained what contribution Christian churched religion can make.
