Summary: | According to the theology of the Catholic Magisterium, a gender reassignment in the proper sense cannot exist. Gender reassignment surgery is dismissed almost exclusively due to the fact that it destroys the good of the ability to procreate without proper reason. This evaluation is based on the assumption that there is a natural relation of congruence between sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation and sexual practice. John Paul II's Theology of the Body proves to be a theology of the heterosexual body. A new evaluation of transsexuality can only be implemented if the postulated congruence is revised. |
