While much of the research and leadership in evangelical theology has historically been dominated by white males from the West, the field of postcolonial theologies and hermeneutics has implications for the church and the future of the field of Christian education. This article provides an overview of postcolonial studies (liberation theologies, feminist theology, and biblical hermeneutics) and how they are changing the scope of theological and biblical studies. Then the article gives focus to the impact of postcolonial studies on the field of Christian education by sketching out a way forward for future studies in Christian education. | ||
