Description
Summary:The Lutherans in Silesia who protested against the new Prussian Agenda issued by King Friedrich Wilhelm III, were driven by various motives. On the one hand they had theological difficulties with the new Agenda and the respective liturgy, while on the other hand it is obvious that they were also afraid of losing the specific form of service with which they were familiar. The paper explores the various reasons mentioned in the discussion and also reveals some misunderstandings between the "Altlutheranern" and the King. Finally the author considers which fields of Practical Theology appear to be worthy of further mutual discussion.
